On the other hand, other studies have shown that taking 250 mg of stevioside daily after three months of treatment does not result in a decrease in blood sugar. 

Products considered safe include stevia extract or stevia rebaudiana. If you find whole stevia leaves or unrefined stevia extract at local food stores, don’t buy them. Stevia is widely regarded as safe when used as a sweetener, and its 10-plus broad range in the United States has raised health concerns, but as an alternative to sugar, it is wise not to go overboard. One thing is to use a packet or two of your coffee or tea or eat the occasional sugar free treat, but the other is to eat this kind of food all day long. Before taking it you should surely know about the right dose of stevia. 

Has stevia been approved by FDA? 

The ingredients of sweet national foods are usually recognized as safe GRAS, they will not require FDA approval. Based on the information by the industry in the GRS notice submitted to the FDA, the FDA will not question the GRS position of certain high-purity steviol glycosides for food. These high-purity steviol glycosides can be legally marketed.

Who should avoid taking stevia? 

Though stevia can stabilize high blood sugar levels. But before taking stevia you should maintain some basic things such as if you are sensitive to sugar alcohols, always choose a brand that does not have erythritol. Extracting whole-leaf stevia and unrefined stevia with stevia if you are pregnant at home is not safe to use if you are pregnant.
