One Cup Of Masala Chai With Natural Stevia
There is no doubt that tea is more than a beverage; it is a comfort drink for many. It instantly lifts your mood.
There is nothing better than a tea break when one is fatigued, fed up, or unwell! We all remember the chai-wallahs, joyfully selling tea from insulated drums attached to the back of cycles.
As the number of diabetics, obese, and blood pressure cases has gone up, chai has become a devil for us due to a single ingredient “Sugar”, which backstabs us while being made innocent by sweetness. There is a reason why we say “one cup of tea without sugar.”
In order to enjoy your cup with sweetness, however, you must say no to sugar and yes to sweetness with the best sugar alternatives like stevia. Sugar Fighter stevia is a 100% natural sweetener that has no calories or carbs.
Masala Chai (Indian Spiced Masala Latte)

Nothing beats a steaming cup of masala chai. This Indian spicy milk tea is well-known all over the world. There’s something about the combination of creamy milk, slightly aromatic tea, toasty cinnamon and cardamom, and the subtle sweetness of sugar fighter stevia. Yes, you read that correctly, stevia is a healthier alternative that has 200-300 times the sweetness of refined sugar while having no calories. Enjoy your cup without feeling sorry.
Ingredients-
- 2 ½ cups water
- 2 cups Dairy-free milk ( you can use almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk)
- 3 Tsp loose leaf or tea bag
- Sugar fighter Stevia (1 tablet per cup)
- 1 whole cinnamon stick.
- 1 tsp whole black peppercorns
- 3-4 whole cloves
- 6-8 green cardamom pods
- 2 tbsp grated ginger
NOTE: It is well known that stevia sweetener is better for our health than sugar, but each type of stevia product contains a different dosage, so always read the labels first and then use stevia according to their directions.
Method-
Use a pestle (or heavy pan) to crush cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, peppercorns, and cloves in a mortar (or cutting board). There isn’t any pulverizing involved, just a slight crushing.
Pour water into a medium saucepan, throw crushed spices & grated (or sliced) ginger. Heat over high heat until it boils. For about 10 minutes, reduce heat to medium/medium-low and simmer until about one-third of the liquid has been reduced.
Reduce the heat to low and add the tea (loose-leaf or bags) and dairy-free milk of your choice. Cook, covered, for 5 minutes to let the flavors mingle. Then remove from the heat and soak for another 5 min or longer for a richer taste.
For sweetness in your cup, add Sugar Fighter Stevia at the recommended dose and strain through a fine-mesh strainer. You can also accompany Stevia-Friendly Masala Chai with Indian snacks such as aloo pakora, veg cutlets, aloo tikki, samosas, kachori, khakhra, bhakhri, and etc.
