What is Collagen protein?

Collagen is found in bones, muscles, skin, and ligaments, and it is the most prevalent protein in our body. It’s the kind of glue that binds the body’s structure to form a scaffold that provides shape and protection to the body.

The primary question to be answered is, what exactly is collagen? In simple words, collagen is the basic functional protein in humans. In a proper sense, collagen accounts for roughly 1/3rd of the entire body’s protein. Collagens are strong and flexible proteins found in the human body.

Collagen comes in at least 16 various sorts, but 80 to 90 percent of collagen belongs into one of three major categories: type 1, type 2, or type 3. These various types of categories have distinct functionalities.

Where is collagen protein mainly found?

Collagen protein is found mainly in connective tissue, such as ligaments, cartilage, bones, and the gut, skin, hair, and nails. The most important function is structuring; that is why it is so important to the body.

Presence of amino acids in collagen

Collagen, just like other proteins, is formed of amino acids, which are the foundations of the human body. Amino acids perform a variety of functions in the human body, including the breaking down of food and the rebuild of tissues.

Humans can only generate 10 of the 20 distinct kinds of amino acids, and the rest must be obtained through food or supplements we consume. The ones we can’t make are referred to as essential amino acids.

Conditional amino acids are also required in the body, which we can make but may not in situations of pressure or sickness, and unnecessary amino acids, which we always make. Collagen includes all three kinds, but the conditional type is the most common.

The importance of conditional amino acids must not be underestimated. Under optimal circumstances, the body makes them, but not always in sufficient quantities. Therefore, consuming them through food or supplements can be extremely beneficial.

Benefits of collagen amino acids?

Improves heart health

Collagen provides the structure to your arterial walls and blood vessels because without it, and your arteries may weaken, increasing your risk of atherosclerosis and heart problems.

Consuming 16 grams of collagen a day for six months resulted in a significant reduction in arterial stiffness in one research on atherosclerosis in healthy human adults published in 2017. They also experienced a 6% rise in “good” HDL cholesterol levels.

Prevents your bone from breakage

Because bones are produced of collagen, keeping a healthy collagen supply will actually shield them. The decline of collagen in bones due to aging may contribute to the development of osteoporosis, whereas collagen supplements were shown to stimulate bone breakage.

Improves the health of the skin

According to skincare research, supplemental collagen peptides may help slow aging by lowering dry skin and the appearance of wrinkles on the skin. In addition, supplementing with collagen may also increase the production of elastin and fibrillin, two other proteins essential for skin health.

How can stevia help break down collagen?

Stevia is a healthy sugar substitute and has been shown in studies to prevent wrinkles, slow down the effects of aging, reduce acne, fight dermatitis or eczema, and revitalize the skin! The consumption of regular table sugar causes glycation, in which sugar binds to the collagen in our skin, making it tight and brittle.

By trying to switch to natural stevia sweeteners, you are not only halting the glycation procedure and preventing collagen breakdown, but it is also high in antioxidants, which safeguard our cells from free radicals.

Fortunately, the leaf of stevia plants has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial characteristics and can be applied directly to the skin to minimize the existence of acne and help to prevent it from returning.

Natural Stevia sweetener includes retinoic acid, a compound that slows the development of wrinkles. It functions by preventing the breakdown of skin cells, primarily collagen and elastin. Furthermore, it decreases sebum production while also increasing the life cycle of skin cells.

Conclusion

In this article, we come to know why collagen is useful in properly developing and structuring the human body. We also come to know that the supplements we consume have enough ability to produce collagen for our body.

Natural stevia sweetener acts as a powerful supplement to increase collagen, leading to various advantages. If you are looking to boost collagen, then switch to stevia (a healthy sugar substitute) from artificial sugar. Make Sugar Fighter your partner to avail Stevia sugar and enjoy good health.
